SPICEWOOD VFD-EMS, INC. AUXILIARY

What a great bunch of dedicated ladies we have in our Auxiliary.  The 100 Club named the President Fran Laxson "SUPPORT PERSON OF THE YEAR".  The Auxiliary has two Garage Sale's per year.  The first one is scheduled for March 24, 2007.  The still need donations.  The Ladies need help sorting out the clothes etc... If you can give them one or two hours of your time or for donation please contact Fran at 830-693-2312.  If you are interested in becoming a member of the Auxiliary come to one of their meetings held the second Monday of each month at 10:00am.

FIRE & EMS CALL VOLUME

The Fire Department responded on 128 calls in 2006.  Our call volume was down last year due to residents calling in their "control burns".

WAY TO GO SPICEWOOD!

Keep up the good work and call Burnet County Sherriff department before you burn at 512-756-8080.   The EMS Department responded to 152 calls in 2006.  At the present time we have 13 certified EMS responders.

THINK SAFETY

A good way to remember to check your smoke alarm is at DAY LIGHT SAVINGS TIME - when you set your clocks back/forward always check your batteries even if you don't think they need it.

NEW GRASS TRUCK

In February 2007 the department purchased a 2007 Chevy Truck to convert into a brush truck.  The truck will be used for  grass and brush fires.  It will take a lot of manpower and time to put this together.  We are hoping to finish and be responding to calls in MAY of this year.  Come by the station any Tuesday evening and check out what your support and donations have done for your community.

SVFD-EMS IS ALWAYS LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS

If you are 18 years old and live in the Spicewood area, you can become a volunteer.  The department trains all of our members.  We have meetings every Tuesday at 7:30pm.  Come sit in and meet our volunteers.

YOUR TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATIONS

Your support and donations is what helps the department to continue to operate.  Without your donations we would not be able to respond on your emergency calls.  Send your tax-deductible donations to:  Spicewood VFD-EMS,  PO Box 2, Spicewood, TX  78669.
